The whole ICT system will go down at 4.30pm until 6pm tonight. so please save your work and log off prior to 4.30pm. Laptop users can still use their laptops, but will lose all access to network resources. Apologies for short notice and any hassle, but it’s imperative that this is resolved as quickly as possible.

Note: Due to a critical hardware failure over the weekend, I have to bring the whole system down, reseat a key component, and then bring the systems back online. If this fix doesn’t work, a replacement part will be sent and I will have to schedule more total system downtime to replace it.

Our systems are very resilient, but we do suffer from hardware faults periodically, and our level of resilience enables repairs outside of core College working hours, but not total uptime which requires double the investment to replicate the working systems fully.

Obviously this can affect student homework if they use the remote access system which will also be unavailable.
